In October, VV's Liuchaosong Flour Factory received a delegation of young pioneers from Xuzhou Children's Palace.

On October 19, Xuzhou Children's Palace initiated a social practice activity themed with "Factory Visit to Hometown Pride". Young pioneers were organized to visit Liuchaosong Flour Factory, an enterprise founded in Xuzhou over 100 years ago, where the young pioneers took a close look at grain storage and processing production lines. The activity was aimed at broadening children’s horizon and developing their observation ability and love for their hometown.

The first stop was the product showroom. Informed of the centennial history of Liuchaosong Flour Factory, children developed a clearer picture of Xuzhou’s modern and contemporary history of industry and why our nation encourages the development of national industry and the creation of national branding; informed of the fact that Liuchaosong Flour Factory spared no effort to supply free flour to 46,000 Chinese defending soldiers as an act of support to the front during the Battle of Taierzhuang, Second Sino-Japanese War, children realized that “corporate development and patriotism” are our good traditions.

The second stop was VV’s granary. At the moment, it is the biggest modern granary in East China, whose gross reserves hit 780,000t. According to the staff, trucks with a full load of grain queue up in order for a dozen kilometers in every harvest season, which look very spectacular. Under the guide of staff, children paid a visit to this 160,000t granary dubbed a big “flour sack” in the Huaihai Economic Zone for being capable of supplying quality and safe grain and food for a population of over 100 million with the capacity of processing 1.3 million tons of grain.

Then children were directed by staff to visit the production workshop. Subject to market demand, the production workshop is equipped with 51 wheat blending systems at the bottom of the former granary, whose capacity totals 13,000 t. In the workshop, wheat varying by quality is mixed by a certain ratio, delivered and cleared to produce satisfactory flour.

The most important equipment in the flour factory is 64 MDDK flour mills made by Buhler, Switzerland, which can greatly raise yield of fine flour and effectively assure economic benefit and product quality on the ground of high total flour yield compared with the former process.

In the flour milling section, 18 high square plansifters are used for processing the mixture ground by flour mills. Through such reciprocating wheat grinding and screening, 120 types of flour and by-product bran can be produced.

In the packing section on the second floor, goods are manually packed and automatically encapsulated by two-station semi-auto packing machines, automatically stacked by Germany’s Kuka robotic stacking machines, and delivered by the intelligent unmanned forklift system to the freight section.

At the end of the activity, children said that they were impressed and learned a lot during the field visit to the factory. With new knowledge and gifts given by the company, children returned with contentment.
